Insurance Claim Help in Collin & Rockwall County
For homeowners filing a hail or wind claim who do not want to do it blind.
What is insurance claim help?
John's Roofing documents your storm damage, gives you an adjuster-ready photo report and line-item scope, and meets your adjuster on the roof so the damage we found is the damage that gets written. We are a roofing contractor, not a public adjuster, and we never negotiate your claim on your behalf.

How it works
Step 01
Document before you file
Photos and counts in hand so the claim starts with evidence.
Step 02
File with your carrier
You file; we give you everything you need for the call.
Step 03
Adjuster meeting
We are on the roof with your adjuster, pointing at the damage.
Step 04
Scope review
We compare the carrier's scope to what is actually on the roof and flag anything missing.
Step 05
Supplements and build
Missed items submitted with photo support, then the work begins.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Who files the claim | The homeowner, with your carrier |
| Typical Texas filing window | Commonly one year from date of loss — confirm with your policy |
| Deductible | Paid by the homeowner; it is illegal in Texas for a contractor to waive or absorb it |
| ACV vs RCV | Carriers often pay actual cash value first and recoverable depreciation after completion |
| Our role | Contractor and documentation, not a public adjuster |
| Cost of documentation | $0 |
| Role | What they do | Who pays them |
|---|---|---|
| You | File the claim, choose the contractor, pay the deductible | — |
| Carrier's adjuster | Inspects and writes the carrier's scope | Your insurance company |
| John's Roofing | Documents damage, meets the adjuster, builds the roof | Paid from the approved scope plus your deductible |
| Public adjuster | Negotiates the claim for you (licensed, separate from us) | You, usually as a percentage |

Warranty and what happens if your claim is denied
- Five-year workmanship warranty, issued in writing at the final walkthrough.
- Manufacturer material warranty registered in the homeowner's name.
- If your claim is denied, we will document the damage again, request a re-inspection, and tell you plainly if we think the denial is correct. You are never charged for an inspection or for claim documentation.
Questions people actually ask
Can you waive my insurance deductible?
No, and neither can anyone else legally operating in Texas. Waiving, absorbing, or rebating a deductible on an insurance job is against state law. Any contractor who offers to is telling you how they do business.
Do you handle the claim for me?
We document the damage, give you an adjuster-ready report, and meet your adjuster on the roof. We do not negotiate the claim itself — that is a licensed public adjuster's role, and we will say so rather than blur the line.
What is a supplement?
A supplement is a request to the carrier for items the original scope missed — rotted decking found at tear-off, code-required ventilation, extra flashing. We submit supplements with photo evidence rather than a bare invoice.
What if the carrier's scope is lower than your estimate?
We compare the two line by line and show you exactly where they differ. Usually the gap is missing items rather than pricing, and photo-supported supplements close it.
